SnapFocus has no account. Which apps you block, and how long you spend in them, is held by iOS in a form we are not able to read. What we do collect is an identifier and a record of how often you use SnapFocus itself, described in full below.

This is the part worth being precise about. When you choose apps to block, iOS does not tell SnapFocus which apps you chose. It returns an opaque, encrypted token. The token cannot be turned back into an app name by us, by anyone we work with, or by anyone who obtained a copy of it.

The same holds for how long you spend in those apps. Screen Time measurements are computed by iOS inside a sandbox we cannot read out of, and the app is told only what it needs in order to draw a shield. None of it is uploaded, because none of it is available to upload.

Your groups, limits, schedules, daily counters, focus history, and garden are stored on the device and in the shared container the app extensions read. They stay there.

A device identifier. The app uses a Firebase installation identifier. It is tied to the app installation on your device rather than to your name, your email, or your Apple Account, and it is what lets separate visits be recognised as the same installation.

How often you use SnapFocus. We record usage of our own app so we can tell which parts are worth keeping: that the app was opened, that onboarding finished, that a group was created, that a focus session was started, finished, or abandoned, and that a plant was earned. This is measurement of SnapFocus itself. It is not a record of the apps you blocked or the time you spent in them, which is the data we cannot reach.

Events never carry an app token or a group name, because a group name is something you typed and could identify you.

Configuration. The app asks Firebase Remote Config which plants exist and which videos play during a focus session. The request carries the installation identifier. It carries nothing about your groups or your usage.

Analytics. Usage events go to Firebase Analytics, run by Google as our processor. They are not sold, and they are not shared with data brokers or advertising networks.

Artwork. Plant images are downloaded from https://assets.snapfocus.net. These are static public files requested by path, with no identifier attached, so the content delivery network sees an IP address asking for a picture.

Purchases. In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation that an entitlement is active. We never see your payment details. See the terms of use for how subscriptions renew.

Nothing is sold. There is no advertising in the app, no advertising identifier is read, and usage data is not combined with data from other companies' apps or websites to build a profile of you. The app does not ask for your contacts, location, photos, or microphone.

Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. To have the usage events associated with your installation identifier deleted as well, email [email protected].

SnapFocus is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
